Chennai Public School champs in under-17 cricket tournament

Chennai: Opener Paramsingh scored a stroke-filled 81 as Chennai Public School (CPS) (Thirumaizhisai) defeated Velammal Vidyashram (Ayyanambakkam) by two wickets to win the Father Mathews Under-17 cricket tournament.  The final was played at the Reddy Santhoshpuram Ground here on Thursday.

Roshan's 74 propelled Velammal Vidyashram to 164 for nine in its 30 overs. S Hritish and Senthamil stared with the ball for the winner, picking up three wickets each. Chennai Public School got to the target with 14 balls to spare courtesy Paramsingh's batting.
