Actress Raashi Khanna, who established herself as a leading actress in Telugu, is yet to have a release in Kollywood.
But she nearly has half-a-dozen projects lined up here that includes ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ in which she acts alongside Atharva, Nayanthara, Anurag Kashyap and Vijay Sethupathi, Shaitan Ka Bachcha with Siddharth, Jayam Ravi’s Adanga Maru and an untitled film with Vishal.
“I choose films based on the script first and then my character. Then I give priority to the pairing. If all the three satisfies me then I would sign any project that comes my way,” said the actress.
“I was scared when I entered Telugu industry because I didn’t know anything about Telugu and it was very alien to me. But I learnt to converse in Telugu. But when I entered Tamil industry, I was not afraid because both the languages are a bit similar and a new language doesn’t scare me anymore,” she says.
Asked about their projects in Tamil, Rashi Khanna says, “I have ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ with Atharva, ‘Shaitan ka Baccha’ with Siddharth, ‘Adanga Maru’ with Jayam Ravi and Vishal’s next. I will be signing two more films in the next week.”
On sharing the screen with Anurag Kashyap and Nayanthara for ‘Imaikka Nodigal’, the actress says, “Anurag Kashyap is a bundle of cinema knowledge and one can sit with him and talk about films for a whole day. He is so humble and nice. He thinks of himself as a very normal person who is there to make cinema, so there was a lot to learn from him. I have no combination shots with Nayanthara.”
“In ‘Shaittan Ka Bacchaa’ she is a very crazy girl, she does whatever she wants to do. In ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ it is a very girly character and people will definitely fall in love with her. Then there is ‘Adanga Maru’ where she is born in Mumbai and has an equal relationship with her partner and there always exists a mutual understanding within each other. She is a very mature women. So all the three roles are different from each other.”
