VIT University begins counselling

Vellore: The first phase of counselling for admission to engineering courses at  Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) started today and would go on till 11 May. The counselling commenced at VIT campuses at Amaravati, Nellore, Chennai and Bhopal campuses online.

VIT Chancellor G Viswanathan handed over the admission letters to students.

The press release said that in the first phase of the counselling, the top 20,000 rankholders will be attending to avail the courses.

The second phase of counseling will commence from 14 to 18 May at the same campuses. Also the release said that for the five-year integrated engineering course counselling will be held on 31 May and those interested can apply online.

The B Tech degrees from VIT can be achieved by getting through the VITEEE examination conducted every year. This year, the results of the  entrance test were published on 27 April.

Students based on their merit are given a range of options to pursue under graduation degree. The VIT University currently offers 36 undergraduate programmes inclusive of B Arch degree (5 years) programme for students willing to pursue Architecture.

The admission into the B Arch degree is procured through a successful NATA score. Many research centres are also part of the schools, which promote inter-departmental collaboration and provide a platform for students to delve into new research projects.
