Chennai: Staying with its commitment to connect tier II and tier III cities on its ever growing 6E network, one of country's fastest growing budget carriers, IndiGo will soon add Tiruchirappalli as its 51st destination.

Starting 1 June, IndiGo with its seventh ATR, will start operating four direct flights from Chennai to Tiruchi. When it happens, IndiGo would be the first airline to launch four departures on its inaugural day at Tiruchirappalli. It will also be the only airline to provide same day return facility to its customers in that sector.

Indigo claims that the flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options. The introduction of these flights will further strengthen airline’s ATR operations while providing enhanced connectivity between Chennai and Tiruchirappalli with all-inclusive fares starting from INR 2,499. Customers can book tickets with immediate effect.

Elaborating on the new route expansion in South India, chief commercial officer, IndiGo, Sanjay Kumar, said, 'Just like Coimbatorea and Madurai, Tiruchirappalli is also a key market for IndiGo in Tamilnadu. With rising business and tourism stemming from the southern hubs, IndiGo is determined to provide the best travel experience to all those who wish to fly these destinations. We are looking at providing affordable fares on these new routes for 6E travelers. It is our constant endeavour to provide more flexibility of choice for our customers as IndiGo continues to offer them on time, hassle free and always affordable flying experience.'
