RTC inaugurates first batch of women trainees

Chennai: The Recruit Training Centre (RTC) in Arakkonam under Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) inaugurated its first batch of lady trainees yesterday. The event was presided by CISF, Director General, O P Singh. CISF is mandated to provide security to major critical and strategic installations of the country in diverse areas and set to train 19,499 new recruits in 2017 and declared it as year of training. The Recruit Training Centre at Arakkonam, Tamilnadu, is entrusted to train 1794 Lady Constables/GD.

The training for the first batch of lady constables, consisting strength of 897 was inaugurated. Speaking on the occasion, Singh congratulated the lady trainees for choosing CISF as their career. He highlighted the relevance of training in molding a civilian into a soldier by refi ning the knowledge, skills and attitude.

"Trainees should be committed and loyal to the service and to accomplish the responsibility with utmost honesty," he said. He also addressed the mentors and the trainers of the institution and emphasised the responsibility entrusted on them to groom the trainees with professional competency to face new challenges. CISF South Sector IG, Anand Mohan, CISF headquarters training DIG, AY Priya Kishore, and RTC Arakkonam DIG V Khamo were also present on the occasion.
