Chennai / Tiruchirappalli: Revealing his stand in the 18 MLAs' disqualification case whose high-profile split verdict was delivered on Thursday, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) convener Seeman, said, 'Only if the verdict favoured TTV faction, it would have upheld social justice. Only this would have meant a natural verdict.'

The party convener said this during his appearance at the Tiruchirappalli District Court to request pre-arrest bail on Thursday for the cases slashed against him in the alleged clash between his party cadres and those belonging to Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) headed by Vaiyapuri Gopalsamy (Vaiko) on 19 May when they were waiting at the Tiruchirappalli Airport to receive their respective leaders.

Post the clash, Tiruchirappalli Police booked cases on many cadres including Seeman. When the latter along with six other cadres of his party namely Prabhu, Karikaalan, Gughan Kumar, Kandasamy, Durai Murugan, and Inian Prakash approached Madurai bench of Madras High Court for bail, it directed them to get the bail from Tiruchirappalli District Court itself. Following this, they came to the city on Thursday.

Adding about the cases slashed against him, Seeman, said, 'It has been wantedly done to deter my activities. When the clash took place, I was not even at the spot. But, still, Police have booked multiple cases against me. When we, who have faith in democracy, take part in protests, government, which doesn't give a damn about it, is planning to choke our throat. It has become a traditional practice for government to slash false cases against people like us.'
