Thanjavur: BJP Union Minister of State Pon Radhakrishnan today said DMK working president M K Stalin must urge the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) government in Karnataka to nominate its members for the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA).

Speaking to mediapersons at Thanjavur, Radhakrishnan said, "The Opposition party leader often cuts the Assembly session like how schoolchildren bunks classes. So, he must one day cut the Assembly, to go to Bengaluru and impress upon the Congress-JD(S) alliance government to nominate its members for the CWMA."

"The BJP Central government has already formed the CWMA. Now, it is up to Stalin to go to Karnataka and urge its government to at least nominate their minimum-member list for the CWMA. He must meet the Karnataka Chief Minister directly," he suggested.

Commenting on the Chennai-Salem green corridor, Pon Radhakrishnan said, "We welcome Tamilnadu government's decision to construct the green corridor. Some parties with vested interests have been creating many hurdles and giving fake reasons to stop its progress. If they keep doing this, no new development plans will be implemented in Tamilnadu."

"The Central government gave permission to Tamilnadu to create a new port at a cost of Rs 28,000 crore two years back. It is disheartening to see it being put on hold for more than two years," he added.
