2.12 lakh candidates apply for VIT EEE 2018

Vellore: The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2018, conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore commenced in 175 centres in India, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qattar on Wednesday, for admission to the various undergraduate programmes offered by VIT at its campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravathi during 2018-19.

According to a press release, the computer-based entrance test will go on till 15 April. The entrance examination is being conducted for admission to 18 B Tech and other undergraduate programmes offered at the VIT, Vellore campus, seven B Tech programmes at the Chennai campus, three B Tech programmes at the Bhopal campus and four B Tech programmes at the Amaravathi campus (Andhra Pradesh).

The test is being conducted in three sessions - from 9 am to 11.30 am, 12.30 pm to 3 pm and 4 pm to 6.30 pm.

A total of 2.12 lakh candidates had applied for the VITEEE 2018.  A maximum of 33,319 applications were received from Andhra Pradesh, followed by 23,664 from Uttar Pradesh, 20,377 from Maharashtra, 18,937 from Telengana and 16,824 from Tamilnadu.

Among cities, a maximum of 16,678 applications were received from Hyderabad, 12,929 from Delhi, 12,881 from Vijayawada, 8,431 from Kota, 7,879 from Chennai, 2,358 from Bhopal and 2,515 from Vellore. The results of VITEEE 2018 would be released in the VIT website, www.vit.ac.in towards the end of this month.


Those who obtained ranks 1 to 50 in VITEEE would be offered 75 per cent fee waiver, ranks 51 to 100 -  50 per cent waiver and ranks 101 to 1000 - 25 per cent waiver for the entire course period under G V School Development Programme.
