Chennai: The second edition of the YSL T20 tournament came to an end here with Kesar Knight Riders emerging as the champions.

Captain of Kesar Knight Riders M. Gopal was adjudged as the man of the series as he picked up 19 wickets in the series. YSL was started to fulfil the dreams of talented sportsmen who are economically backward.

The tournament is the brainchild of Managing Director, YSL, N S Gnanavel and auditor, A S Kumar and it was first initiated in the year 2010.

"Behind YSL's success is six years of hard work. For the past five years our district secretaries have been working day and night spotting talent in all the 32 districts," said Kumar.

The players were handpicked by the appointed district secretaries and more than 500 players were given training in the camp before this season.

"Out of 500 players we have selected 250 and finally, 160 players played in this tournament. Compared to season 1 last year YSL has grown leaps and bounds this year. All the players have the talent to play for the state and even the country and only thing they need is proper nurturing," he said.

AS Kumar also said that they will soon start a similar league for other sports like Kabaddi and football as well.
