SpiceJet may tie-up with US companies to diversify business

Chennai: SpiceJet airlines is all set to enter into major business partnerships with two American companies, which includes an international airline, to diversify its activities beyond aviation, reports have stated.

The Gurgaon-based airline is planning to enter the digital and technology space, the report added. They are also interested in the cargo, courier, and logistics business.

With a market-share of about 13 per cent, it is the largest airline in the country by the number of passengers carried. Now, the company is participating in the UDAN scheme (connecting unserved and underserved airports at affordable cost by providing a subsidy to the operators), which will aid more routes.
