New Delhi: After a blistering attack against the Central government, mostly targeted at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the debate on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha,  Opposition leader and Congress president Rahul Gandhi walked up to the Treasury benches to give Modi a hug.

Though the Prime Minister must have been taken by surprise, he called back Rahul and shook hands with him and patted his back.

There was thumping of desks all around and Speaker Sumitra Mahajan laughed.

After the surprise gesture, Rahul Gandhi returned to his seat and looking at fellow MPs, winked.
