Review: Sathura Adi 3500-Well begun, half done

Afer Dhuruvangal 16, comes Sathura Adi 3500 for actor Rahman. Hence it carried high expectations. However what began well lost steam as it progressed. The movie’s plot is set around real estate mafia.

It begins with Stephen, a civil engineer who is found hanging in a construction site. Rahman, a local sub-inspector investigates the case.

Following this the screenplay travels in multiple directions and geographies as the case is transferred to protagonist Nikhil Mohan.

What begins as a cop thriller ends up as an eerie fare. Iniya plays a haunted girl and she has done the job entrusted to her well, while the likes of M S Baskar and Thalaivasal Vijay deserve better screen presence.

Rahman does a good job as a police man, who is overpowered by emotions. Prathap Pothen, Kovai Sarala, Besant Ravi, filmmaker Saravana Subaiah are also in the cast.

The background score by Ganesh Raghavendra is convincing but the cinematography by Francis coud have been better. Though the plot is set in Nagercoil, almost all scenes are shot in Chennai.

Joyson, who has helmed the movie, could have made the screenplay more crisp to sustain the attention of audience. Sridhar has handles choreography while editing was by R G Anandh
