Women-centric films on the rise: Tammannah

“Filmmakers are writing meaty roles for women. It is a great time for actresses to explore different characters today,” says Tammannah.

Elated at playing the Telugu version of the Hindi blockbuster ‘Queen’, she says,”I am eager to act in such engaging and entertaining movies.”

The actress is equally thrilled at being part of ‘Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy’, which is Chiranjeevi’s 151st film produced by his son, Ram Charan Tej.

To be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, Tamannaah has been mastering classical dance for the film.

“I got a lot of offers for period films after ‘Baahubali’, but nothing excited me till ‘Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy’. I play a dancer in it.”

Tamannaah has two Telugu releases ready for release,with director Kunal Kohli and a commercial entertainer, ‘F2’, directed by Anil Ravipudi.

She also has a Tamil film, ‘Kanne Kalaimaane’ with Udhayanidhi Stalin directed by Seenu Ramaswamy.

“I have also signed on a Tamil film with Vishal, a project that will be directed by Sundar C.”

“I will definitely be working as a heroine in a Kannada film very soon. I am just looking for a good subject,” she says.
