Cinema and politics are two sides of the same coin. At a time when Tamilnadu politics has been witnessing several artistes aspiring to enter politics, lots of movies that revolve around around the current political situation in the State are being made in the reel world.

After the likes of Kodi and Kaala that featured Dhanush and superstar Rajinikanth, comes Vijay starrer Sarkar.

According to sources, the movie directed by A R Murugadoss speaks about split in a major political party and how the protagonist unites them. Remember Vijay's earlier ventures Kaththi and Mersal were loaded with political punches.

Not far behind is Suriya's NGK.

The movie on the floors speaks about a youngster with revolutionary ideas, who wants to change the society ridden by corruption. Directed by Selvaraghavan, the movie is slated for release this Deepavali.

National award winning filmmaker Vettrimaran's production venture Annanaukku Jey is hitting screens next month. It is a political satire and features 'Atta Kaththi' Dinesh in the lead role.

Venkat Prabhu's production venture RK Nagar is all complete. The title rings a bell for it was the Assembly constituency represented by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and all hell broke loose when bye-elections were conducted for the same after Jayalalithaa's demise.

Kamal Haasan, who recently forayed to politics by floating Makkal Needhi Maiam, is all set to kickstart Indian 2, to be directed by Shankar.

Says the actor, "It will be a political film.  Indian 2 will strive to convey a string message to the society. Fight against corruption would continue".

Umesh, an industry tracker, says, "With every actor aspiring to enter politics, it is inevitable that movies on such genres are made more in Tamil cinema. But only if the content is good and it manages to strike a chord with masses, such films would do good at the box office".
