The teaser of Thamizh Padam 2.0 that was out in social media today has gone viral thanks to his hilaroius take on contemporary Tamil cinema. Quite typical to its first part, it makes fun of movies starring big stars that evokes instant laughter.

Directed by C S Amudhan, Tamizh Padam 2.0, which is a sequel to the blockbuster Tamil film of the same name released a few years ago.

Produced by Y NOT Studios, the film stars Shiva, Disha Pandey, Ishwarya Menon and Sathish in the lead. Tamizh Padam 2.0 has music by Kannan and is slated to release this July.

The trailer spoofs Vishal's Thupparivalan, Ajith's Mankathya and Vijay's Thuppaki. In December last year, the first look poster of the movie went viral on the internet.

The poster had actor Shiva taking a dig at Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam for his Dharma Yudham. The hilarious poster also took a jibe at piracy website 'Tamilrockers'.

The filmmamker did not even spare Rajinikanth. In a lighter vein, the crew came out with a press release a couple of days to say the ‘real’ reason why it did not arrive in cinemas on the date announced earlier (May).

"We had earlier announced TP2.0 release date as 25 May, but we had to push it due to technical reasons," read the statement. And the reason behind the delay is said to be the extensive special effects work involved in the film. The filmmakers have seemingly taken a sarcastic dig at Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-delayed film, 2.0.

Rajinikanth’s mega-budget sci-fi film has been postponed several times since last year citing a huge amount of post-production, which is attributed to the CGI work that has been going on in many studios around the world.
