Chennai: Tamizh Padam 2 will only have comical references from films and not politics. The ones you saw in the posters and teasers are the only political innuendos in the film, says filmmaker C S Amudhan.

A sequel to 2010 blockbuster, Tamizh Padam 2 stars Mirchi Shiva in the lead role again. A spoof on Tamil cinema, it is bankrolled by Sashio of Y Not Studios.

"There were great expectation on the movie ever since we announced the sequel. The way people reacted to the promo pictures and trailer was overwhelming, he says and adds, 'people will get their money’s worth watching the movie," states Amudhan.

Asked why it took eight years for him to come with a sequel, he says, "We got great content now and a lot of things happened where things just fell into place only now. Also I was busy with Rendavadhu Padam, which is also my second film and it was stalled."

On working with Mirchi shiva, Amudhan, says, "I admire his sense of humour. It is quite different. I believe it as reason for success of this film. You will know that when you watch the movie."
