Sunny days ahead

Chennai: The wait is soon to get over for film-lovers in Tamilnadu. Sunny Leone's maiden venture in K'town (Veeramadevi) is fast nearing completion to see an early release.

Speaking about her role in the woman-centric film, she says, "My character is extremely strong and I think if there is any representation of woman I would love to play, it’s Veeramadevi. She is a very determined and an independent woman."

Veeramadevi is a Tamil venture where Sunny Leone will be doing action scenes. A period drama, the movie would be released will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi respectively. It is bankrolled by Ponse Stephen and directed by VC Vadivudaiyan.

Sunny Leone's warrior princess avatar in and as Veeramadevi was out recently only to go viral in social media. The actress has never been seen in such a powerful role before and that is something new for her fans.

She underwent special training in sword fighting, horse riding, as it is required for the role. Being a period film, it will have a good amount of VFX included which will be a visual treat for the eyes, says sources in the film unit.

Sunny Leone, who has made a name for herself in Bollywood, expressed her delight at being part of such a grand venture. She said, "The wait is over...The first look of my Tamil film #Veeramadevi is here. I am so so excited."

She adds, "Being able to learn about a completely different culture is something that I like a lot and enjoy. Language is a barrier. But will overcome it. I am excited about the whole process."

"I have always liked doing action sequences. I was waiting for a script like this for a long time. I started preparing for this movie from the minute director V C Vadivudayan narrated the story. I have a special love towards south India. I have a lot of my fans here, especially Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Kerala. My character is extremely strong and I think if there is any representation of woman I would love to play, it’s Veeramadevi. She is a very determined and an independent woman," Sunny had said about her role earlier.

The actress made her Bollywood debut in Pooja Bhatt's Jism 2 which hit the screens in 2012 after she was seen in reality show Bigg Boss.

Since then, she has starred in several Bollywood projects and hosted MTV Splitsville for a few seasons as well. Veeramadevi has actor Navdeep playing the villain.

The music is by Amrish Ganesh, who has earlier composed for Raghava Lawrence’s Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva.
