Chennai: It has been a wonderful year for Samantha. Her Telugu film Rangasthalam was a blockbuster and her perfomance in Nadigayar Thilagam, a bio-pic on veteran actress Savithri was hugely acclaimed.

She eagerly awaits the release of her next seema Raja in which she pairs opposite Sivakarthikeyan. Directed by Ponram, it has music by D Imman.

Speaking about her role in the film, she says, "I am playing a typical village girl. It is a fun filled commercial entertainer. I love Sivakarthikeyan's earlier collaborations with Ponram (Varuthapadtha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan). For Seema Raja, I learnt Silambam (a martial art form practised in TN) for this film and I have swirled the stick for some of the action sequences."

The movie is shot extensively in Thenkasi.
