Post strike, it's action time again in Kollywood

Come 27 April, Baskar Oru Rascal starring Aravind swami is confirmed for release. It is a remake of recent Malayalam hit Baskar The Rascal which featured Mammootty and Nayanthara in lead.

Amala Paul is the heroine in Tamil version. Directed by Siddique, who helmed the original, the movie's audio was launched recently.

Says Siddique,"We have made few changes in Tamil to suit the nativity of the audience here. It is a mix of romance, comedy and action."

Produced by Harshini, the movie has cinematography by Vijay Ulaganathan and stunts are choreographed by Fefsi Vijayan. The movie narrates a story of the deep bonding between a father and his son.

From tomorrow, the shoot of Selvaraghavan-Suriya’s NGK resumes. Rakul Preet Singh plays the heroine. An action thriller, the movie has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Bankrolled by S R Prabhu, plans are on for a release this Deepavali.

Meanwhile the shooting of Vijay62 will restart next week. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the untitled film has Keerthy Suresh, Varalakshmi, Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu and Livingston in lead roles. Produced by Sun Pictures, it has music by A R Rahman.

The audio of Mr Chandramouli will take place on 25 April at Sathyam Cinemas. Produced by Dhananjayan’s BOFTA Media Work, Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame is composing the music.

Directed by Thiru of Naan Sigappu Manithan fame, Gautham Karthik, Regina Cassandra, Karthik, Varalakshmi, Viji Chandrasekhar, and Sathish are playing the lead roles in the film.

It may be recalled that Karthik Subbaraj's Mercury, a silent thriller starring Prabhudeva was the first film to hit the screens yesterday post Kollywood strike.
