My career is back on track: Vikranth

Chennai: Vikranth may have started his career as hero a decade ago. But it had taken him several years to establish himself as an actor to reckon within Tamil cinema.

The actor who made a big come-back with Pandiyaa Naadu is eagerly awaiting the release of his next Thondan. He shares the screen with actor-filmmaker Samuthirakani.

Says Vikranth, "I never gave up. I strongly believed that success and failures are part of our career. Thanks to my good friend Pandiyaa Naadu happened. It brought me name and fame."

Vikranth followed it up playing a baddie in Gethu. He says, "I was initially hesitant to act in Gethu. But Udhayanidhi Stalin gave me courage and motivated me to give my best. Gethu took me closer to masses."

The actor’s recent release Kavan is doing good at the box office. He played a student leader in the movie.

Says Vikranth, "I thank director K V Anand for the opportunity. Though it was a brief role, it had a say in the film."

Speaking about Thondan, he says, "I thank Samuthirakani for giving me the huge responsibility. Thondan carries a strong message and my character has come really good."

Heaping laurels on Samuthirakani, Vikranth, said, "He is an intense film-maker and knows how to extract the best from you."

The actor is playing the lead in films including Aram Seiyya Virumbu and Venilla Kabbadi Kuzhu 2.
