Actor and Tamil Film Producers Council chief Vishal confirmed that Karthik Subbaraj’s Mercury will be the first release post the Kollywood strike that ended Tuesday.

He wrote on Twitter, “Here we go. Our first Tamil film release after the revamp is gonna be #MercuryMovie in a grand scale. looking fwd to this lovely venture from @karthiksubbaraj. all da best. #Tfpc will assure a huge and grand release wit all support. God bless."

Addressing media persons yesterday, Vishal said the first movie to release post-strike would be Mercury.

He thanked all those who involved themselves in the stir and ensured a bright future for Tamil cinema.

One of the major bones of contention, the payment of virtual print fee, has been slashed to Rs 250 per show from Rs 290 for E-Cinema. Other demands of the TFPC which include computerisation of ticketing, flexible ticket pricing, reduction in online booking charges have also been met.
