The sequel to Prabhu Solomon's 2012 blockbuster Kumki starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon, Kumki-2 is all set to enter its third schedule in a couple of days.

Speaking about this, Prabhu Solomon said, "Usually sequels would be the extension or continuation to the first part. But, this has a separate storyline. Since this crux is also about the relationship between an elephant and its master, we have named it as Kumki-2."

The movie will be star newcomer Mathiyazhagan in the lead role. The heroine is still to be chosen.

"Kumki 2 has come out very well in a grandeur manner," Prabhu Solomon said and added that the crew has been struggling a lot to involve elephants in the movie.

"'We traveled to various countries to spot an elephant-calf, as the movie is about a calf and a boy. But, when we have an elephant we could not get permission or if we have permission, the elephant was not cooperating," he said.

The movie is produced by Pen India Limited, Jayantilal Gada. Nivas K Prassana composes the music and Sukumar handles the camera.
