Chennai: Imaikka Nodigal, the upcoming Tamil thriller film, directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu and produced by CJ Jayakumar with Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Gajen V, Atharvaa, Rashi Khanna and Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap in the lead roles, got its trailer released at event in Chennai on Wednesday. On the occasion, actress Raashi Khanna spoke to reporters about her venture into Tamil cinema and many more. The excerpts of her interaction are below.

Q: This is one of your first ventures in Tamilnadu. What are your expectations?

A: Yes, this is only my second film in Tamil and I am quite excited about it. My expectation is a character with meaning and Ajay has done a great job here. Krithi the character I am representing in the film is very similar to me. She is independent, traditional and at the same time contemporary.

Q: What do your feel about Tamil language?

A: Tamil is a beautiful language but quite difficult to learn. Currently, a Tamil tutor is teaching me how to speak. I am also a fan of Tamil songs especially those composed by Hip Hop Thamizha. So far, I am quite familiar with words like eppadi irukinga, saptingla, etc.

Q: How are your scripts?

A: I always wanted to perform and so expect my scripts to be lively and contemporary. As the film fulfills my expectations, I am happy. I always love going out of my comfort zone and perform. This move does give me this platform.

Q: Are you interested in glamour roles?

A: I don't have any idea of becoming a glamour heroine or a commercial heroine but instead want to act responsibly. Tholi Prema was one of the my movies that helped me come out of glamour roles.

Q: How do you feel like working with Nayanthara and Atharvaa?

A: I am basically a feminist who strives for equality between men and women. So, this itself has established a good connect for me with Nayanthara. Secondly, Atharvaa is a bunch of positive energy and I love working with him.

Q: What about becoming an woman super star?

A: Well, I don't have any plans as such now.

Q: Tell us about your stint in Chennai.

A: I have come here during my chilhood days and love this city.

Q: Your future plans.

A: My long standing wish to enter Tamil cinema has been finally accomplished. Now, I wanted to do more films. I don't have any plans as such but will work hard and grow.
