"Being part of movie based on real incidents was a great feeling. Theeran Adhigaram Ondru gave me an identity and I happy with audience response," says actor Abhimanyu Singh.

Abhimanyu Singh played a dreaded baddie. Karthi, Rakul Preet donned the lead roles.

Speaking to News Today, Abhimanyu Singh, says, "Months of hard work including physical and mental strain have been ably rewarded now. The huge response from audience for my role elates me."

He made his debut in Bollywood with Aks in 2001, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Abhimanyu Singh made it popular with Gulaal, helmed by Anurag Kashyap and RGV’s Rakta Charitra. He has done several Telugu films in the recent past. Though he had acted in a couple of Tamil films including Thalaivaa and 10 Endrathukulla, he says,"Theeran Adhigaram Ondru took me close to the masses."

Q: Why did you choose to act in Theeran...?

A: When Vinoth narrated me the story, what really took me by fascination was the fact Theeran.. is based on true incidents. A sense of reality sprang up in my mind and it was completely amazing. The history and past that my characterisation carries is really amazing.

Q: On sharing the screen with Karthi.

A: Karthi is such a wonderful human being. He is always focused towards improvisations and keeps working on it. I found him so much disciplined, hardworking and at the same time much easy going

Q: Tell us about your experience working with Vinoth?

A: He love his actors so much and is always seen with polite conversations. Vinoth always keeps looking out for betterment and he keeps experimenting with what’s best. So much sensibility and genuine nature are his greatest attraction.

Q: How was it to shoot in extreme conditions in Rajasthan?

A: We had to shoot through the entire day under extreme climatic conditions. By the end of day, as I took bath, I would see that it took 15 minutes to wash my face and the water would dark. Such was the amount of dust. But now everything has encashed us with good success and I am really happy about.

Q: What kind of roles you want to do in Tamil cinema?

A: Post Theeran.., I am getting lots of offers. I want to be part of movies where my character will have a say. Be it baddie or character roles, I am ready to accept.
