Following rumours that the movie's graphics work would not be completed before next year, Shankar took to Twitter last night to announce the opening of the film in November.
He said the graphics team that has been on the job since last year, when the shooting for the film was completed, had informed him the date for completion of the work.
So, the movie will be screened from 29 November, he said. The news was confirmed by Lyca Productions, the producer of the film.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the movie has Bollywood star Akshay Kumar playing the baddie. Amy Jackson would add the glamour quotient to the movie that has been in the making for more than a year.
A R Rahman provides the music for the movie that was supposed to be a sequel to Shankar's runaway hit Enthiran. But the director insists it is not a sequel and must be seen as a stand-alone movie.
