EXCERPTS FROM HER INTERVIEW

Tell us about ‘Kayankulam Kochunni’?

A: It is a movie that is very close to my heart. I am happy to work with Nivin Pauli and Mohanlal. It is a historical movie and I play a village girl in it. The flick would be out in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously. I always admire Nivin Pauli. A natural performer, I loved his acting in ‘Neram’ and ‘Bangalore Days’. Mohanlal is one of the top five actors in the country. I am too small to speak about about his acting prowess.

Q: How is ‘LKG’ shaping up?

A: It is an interesting movie. It is generally said that political movies can be understood by those who have an inclinations towards it. But ‘LKG’ carries a simple storyline and people of all age-groups can enjoy it. It is a family entertainer and shoot begins next month.

Q: Will you continue to act in Bollywood?

A: I never went behind offers in cinema. From the various offers that come to me in Hindi cinema, I pick the one that impresses me. However my all-time favourite is Tamil cinema. Language is no barrier for me. If I get good script in any language, I am ready to do it.

Q: You are an ambassador of Save Children Campaign. Do you think girl child are safe here?

A: I am shocked reading about the sexual harassment of a young child in Ayanavaram. Offenders should be hanged. Such an incident should not happen again. Strict punishments should be given to those who abuse children. Speedy trial will create fear in their minds.
