Chennai: Andhra Mess, a film directed by popular ad filmmaker Jai, starring Raj Bharath and Thejaswini in the lead roles is all set for a worldwide release on 22 June.

Speaking about the film, director Jai said, "The movie has been filmed in a novel way that is atypical to Tamil cinema. The story revolves around four male thieves, an old zamindar and his young wife. The story is a string of events that happen in their lives and ties their fate together."

"This film is less about the story and more about how these things are portrayed on screen. It will show the grey areas of what is right and wrong," the director added.

The movie started production four years back and finished more than a year back. The first trailer of the film which released two years back received rave reviews and has more than two million views on youtube.

The film's title, Andhra Mess, has also garnered the attention of the public. In spite of this, the film crew have been struggling to find theatres to release the film.

Speaking about this, Jai said, "Today, businessmen decide the kind of film the director should make. This is the situation in Tamil film industry right now. The foundation of Tamil cinema is built on top of a business. It is very difficult to take an unconventional movie here. This environment will prevent Tamil cinema from going to the next level. This must change."

The director went on to thank producer Nirmal K Bala of Showboat Studios for sticking with him throughout and giving him full freedom in the filmmaking process. Noted artist, AP Sreethar, makes his film debut with the venture portraying a negative role. The film's music has been scored by Prashanth Pillai. The film also stars Pooja Devariya, Mathivanan and Vinoth.
