Wendt India Q1 sales up 32% to Rs 25.61 cr

Chennai: The board of directors of Wendt (India) Ltd have announced the financial results for the quarter ended 30 June where, on a standalone basis, the company achieved sales of Rs 36.47 crore, 31 per cent higher than the corresponding period last year.

The domestic sales have been at Rs 25.61 crore, 32 per cent higher than the corresponding period last year.

A release from the firm stated that the major industry segments which attributed to the growth of the domestic business were steel, auto, auto ancillaries, cutting tools, defence, glass etc.

The export was 30 per cent higher than the corresponding period of last year at Rs 10.86 crore. This was due to higher sales to Taiwan, Middle East, UK, Germany, Indonesia, Thailand etc, it added.

Accordingly, the Profit After Tax (PAT) for the current quarter has been higher by 312 per cent at Rs 4.49 crore. The good results in the form of revenue and net profit growth has been primarily on account of higher volumes, operational efficiencies, and product mix, the release said.

On a consolidated basis, company’s sales stood at Rs 41.62 crore for the current quarter which is 27 per cent higher than the corresponding period of last year with the PAT of Rs 5.37 crore, which is 136 per cent higher than the corresponding period last year.
