TN seeks Rs 1,500 cr from Centre as flood relief

Chennai: The Tamilnadu government has sought Rs 1,500 crore from the Centre towards flood relief.

A request in this regard was made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam met him this morning in the city.

Speaking to reporters, Palaniswami said they elaborated about the rain damage to Modi and sought financial assistance from the Union government to carry out repair and relief works.

Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and Panneerselvam were present during the press conference.
