Chennai: DMK working president MK Stalin today demanded a discussion in the Assembly on why actor S Ve Shekhar has not been arrested yet despite Court insisting on it. But, when Speaker Dhanapal didn't pay heed to him, he along with the other DMK MLAs walked out of the Assembly.

During the question hour in the Assembly today, Stalin raised an issue as to why S Ve Shekhar, who posted derogatory tweet against women journalists, has not been arrested yet. To this, the speaker responded saying, 'The issue in Court and so cannot be discussed in the Assembly.'

When repeated requests went to deaf ears, Stalin walked out followed by the other DMK MLAs. Speaking to reporters outside, the working president alleged that S Ve Shekhar is a relative of Tamilnadu Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan. 'This is the reason why government is not taking steps against him,' he said.
