Chennai: The SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School celebrated its golden jubilee at SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Ramapuram campus, recently.
Inaugurating the celebration, State School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan recollected school's founder and SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chancellor T R Paarivendhar's service rendered in the field of education. He wished that the school should achieve many more milestones and continue in its path of service to society.
State Rural Industries Minister P Benjamin said, "The school has been providing holistic education and moulds students to emerge as exemplary citizens."
Delivering the presidential address, Paarivendhar said, "Both the government agencies and the SRM group are working with the same vision of putting Tamilnadu on the global map with respect to quality education. Hereafter, Tamilnadu will not only called as medical hub of India, but sooner it will be known as educational hub of India."
To commemorate the special occasion, the souvenir 'PRAGATHI' was released.
The golden jubilee report was presented by the principal and it was followed by cultural programme by the school students and prize distribution for the winners.
School correspondent R Shivakumar and SRM Group of Institution co-chairman S Niranjan were also present.
