Rowdy hacked to death near Tambaram

Chennai: Tension prevailed in Urapakkam near Tambaram where a history-sheeter was hacked to death by a gang this morning. His severed head was found left on the road. Prevvious enmity is said to be the reason for the murder.

According to police, they rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Street in Karanapudhucheri followiug reports that a man's head was found on the stretch. They immediately sent it to Chrompet Government Hospital and began inquires.

Investigations revealed that the deceased was Kamala Kannan, a resident of Kadaperi and several cases of robbery and murder were pending against him.

This morning, Kamal Kannan had been to fishing in a lake nearby. He picked up wordy duel with a gang, who severed his head and escaped from the place.

Kanchipuram District Collector Ponniah, Superintendent of Police Santosh Abhimanyu visited the place. Sniffer dogs and finger print experts were pressed into service.
