Saree is a versatile material that can be worn in any form and there is no limit to its varied colours and designs.

Apart from being classy, it looks very elegant and nowadays even the younger generation love to flaunt sarees wearing various types of blouses.

But, some like short girls hesitate to wear sarees because they feel that it won't suit them. Here are a few ways by which even petite girls can flaunt the six yards on special occasions.

First and foremost, wear dark shades of colours which will make you look taller and thinner like black, cobalt blue or striking red.

Wear minimal makeup and jewellery. It will show your 'increased' height. Downing yourself in heavy jewellery will make you look stooped.

Choose sarees that are light and flowy. It will help you be comfortable and you need not feel uneasy. Avoid cotton as it will make you feel heavy. Buy sarees that have small border rather than heavy broad ones. The small ones will make you look good. Wear a comfortable petticoat so that you don't trip over your saree. Always remember to tie the saree below the navel. It elongates your frame. Avoid bold or heavy prints. Try going in for vertical stripe sarees rather than horizontal ones.

Wear a comfortable pair of heels so that the saree does not get caught. Also, make sure that your saree pleats are neat and flowy to give you an elegant, classy look. Get that hairdo right to suit your face.

Wear heavy blouse if your saree is light and vice versa. It will show the difference and not make it look like a uniform. Make sure that your blouse is proper and fits perfectly. Avoid high neck blouses so that you don't look like a giraffe.
