Chennai: A vacant land belonging to Tamilnadu Housing Board at Vandiamman Koil Street, Mugappair East, in the city has been developed into a residential apartment.

After constructing the building, the contractor delayed to construct the compound wall, so the residents nearby used the open space to park their cars which caused many problems. Now, the building is protected by a fencing.

Badrinath, a resident of Mugappair East, said, “Before constructing this building, the vacant land belonging to TNHB was used as a car parking area. When the construction started, residents parked their cars on Vandiamman Koil Street which caused hindrance to other motorists.”

“After completion of the project, the contractor delayed to construct the compound wall due to various reasons. Some car owners nearby again parked their vehicles inside the building which led to other issues. We gave complaints to officials concerned regarding this. Authorities have now fenced the building,” he added.

Finally, Badrinath said, “There is another open space near the building. We request Corporation officials to develop it as park. Residents in Sree Apartments, Moonlight and other flats want a good place to relax. So, a park in that open space will be a great addition to the locality.”
