Chennai: Honeywell India has joined hands with Agastya International Foundation and launched "Honeywell Science Experience."

The unique programme is an experiential science education initiative with an idea to spark curiosity and creativity among students. It adapts hands-on-learning methods for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) instead of the usual rote-based learning that is prevalent in India.

US Consulate General, Robert G Burgess who was the guest of honour said, "Hands on learning will always inspire students and teachers. Education not only builds society but also helps children to reach their full potential."

The programme has already been launched at other major metro cities like Bangalore, Gurugram, Delhi and Pune. In Chennai alone, about 11,000 students will be covered under this programme.

Agastya founder and chairman Ramji Raghavan, said, "The programme is designed to spark curiosity and make a child to enjoy the process of learning science."
