Karunanidhi health: Security tightened around hospital

Chennai: Security around Kauvery Hospital has been tightened with more and more DMK cadres arriving at the spot on hearing about the setback to the health condition of their leader M Karunanidhi.

According to reports, two deputy commissioners, four assistant commissioners and 200 police personnel have been deployed around the Alwarpet hospital.

Cadres are said to be arriving from different parts of the State with their families in tow.

In the meantime, Karunanidhi's son M K Stalin has returned to the hospital after going home last night.

DMK leader Ponmudi has also reached the hospital.

Karunanidhi's health condition suffered a setback last evening, according to the hospital's medical bulletin. Ever since, the cadres have been gathering in strength in front of the hospital, making the police divert traffic and maintain calm.
