Karunanidhi health: Cong leader Ghulam Nabi Azad talks to docs

Chennai: Senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition, Ghulam Nabi Azad, today said he hoped DMK president M Karunanidhi will return home soon after his treatment.

Speaking to the media this afternoon after visiting Kauvery Hospital where the DMK patriarch was admitted to last night after his blood pressure dropped, Azad said Karunanidhi was in intensive care and visitors were not allowed to seeĀ  him.

So, Azad said, he spoke to the doctors treating Karunanidhi and added that the former chief minister's family was satisfied with the treatment being given to him.

He also said Karunanidhi's condition was improving.

Azad said as soon they heard that Karunanidhi was not well, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and party president Rahul Gandhi asked him to pay a personal visit to look up the leader.

He hoped that Karunanidhi would return home soon and resume his political activities.
