JLR's new facility in Chennai takes India total to 27

Chennai:  With sales of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) going up in India, VST Grandeur opened a new retailer facility at Poonamalle, here. The facility takes the total number of JLR outlets in the country to 27.

Officials from JLR said the company is committed to serving customers better with the new facility that is spread over 2318 sq m.

Talking to reporters during the inauguration, president and managing director, JLR India Ltd, Rohit Suri, said, "The newly-launched facility has an integrated service workshop with 17 service bays and high-class equipments. We promise to provide our customers with good after-sales services."

The manufacturer has recorded a steady 66 per cent increase in sales and performance in the first six months of the year, selling 2,579 units in the country.

Thus was a significant number for the firm as the global sales for JLR in June were were 37,490 vehicles and Jaguar wholesales for the month were 10,354 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 27,136 vehicles.

Part of the Tata Motors Group, JLR helped the group achieve global wholesales of 100,135 units which is higher by 12 per cent, over the same period last year. The global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in June were at 44,229 units, higher by 53 per cent, over June 2017.

Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles were at 55,906 units, lower by eight per cent, compared to June 2017.
