Chennai: J Deepa, niece of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has submitted a petition asking her name to be included as one of the petitioners in the Justice (Retd) Arumugasamy inquiry commission probing the death of the former AIADMK supremo.

In her petition, she has asked the inquiry commission to take her and her representatives along to Apollo Hospitals (where Jayalalitha underwent treatment for 75 days before she passed away), when they go to conduct their investigations.

"Few people who have been summoned by the commission before have given false information to the commission regarding me. So, to counter that and to assert my legal rights as a relative of Jayalalitha, I request the commission to include my name as one of the petitioners", Deepa said.

Deepa's advocate, Thondan Subramanian said, "We have submitted our petition to the judge. He has said that he will look into it and take a decision."

Meanwhile Apollo Hospital chairman Prathap C Reddy on Thursday reiterated his statement regarding the inquiry in Jayalalithaa's death. He said, "Apollo Hospitals is ready to face any inquiry concerning former Chief Minister Jayalaitha's hospitalisation and does not hesitate to share any documents or details concerning the same."
