Karunanidhi health: CM Palaniswami looks him up at hospital ICU

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam arrived at Kauvery Hospital to enquire about the condition of former chief minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi.

The two AIADMK leaders met Karunanidhi's son M K Stalin and learnt about the present condition of the DMK patriarch. They also looked up the DMK leader in the ICU of the hospital.

Speaking to mediapersons after this, Palaniswami said Karunanidhi's condition was stable.

"Deputy Chief Minister Panneerselvam and I saw DMK president Karunanidhi in the ICU and he is stable," said the Chief Minister.

The team of doctors is monitoring his condition, he added.

Palaniswami had cancelled his Salem engagements for today and arrived in the city past midnight last night.

It had been earlier said he would visit the hospital after landing in Chennai.  But the Chief Minister's convoy headed for his Greenways home after he touched down at Chennai.

Palaniswami was accompanied by State ministers C Ve Shanmugam, Sengottaiyan and C Vijayabhaskar.
