Chennai: Madras High Court today granted time till 12 September to Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) to file its reply in the highway tender scam case filed against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

The decision was made after DVAC sought extra time when the case came up for hearing this morning.

DVAC on 4 September informed the court that it had completed a preliminary inquiry on a complaint lodged by DMK organising secretary R S Bharathi on 13 June, alleging large-scale corruption in the award of civil contracts by the Highways Department - a portfolio held by Palaniswami.
