"‘Thanks to the support given by the school, I am able to balance both these activities,"’ he adds.

Speaking about the youngster, school principal V Lakshmi Devi said,"We gave admission for Deepak after going through his extraordinary skills in sports.  He proved it so by excelling in athletics and we expect him to target state and national level participation.’"

"‘His achievement is outstanding as his family background, in terms of finance, is poor. He overcomes all the odds and excels in sports,"’ she added.

Sparing a few words about his love for football, Deepak said ‘I enjoyed the game during high school days as I got an opportunity to play for the school and later at district level also.’

With my athletic skills, I feel fit enough to become a police officer and eager to join in Indian Police Service (IPS) and serve the society.’

‘Another aspect, I would like is to train youngsters, especially from primary standards in athletics as a lot of hidden talents are there in our society.  The truth is that not many are willing to take up athletics as there is a wrong perception about it being difficult and tiresome.’
