Andavan Swamigal passes away

Chennai: Sri Ranga Ramanauja Maha Desikan of Srimad Andavan Ashram passed away today at a private hospital here where he was rushed to from the Andavan Ashram after he complained of breathing difficulties.

He was not keeping good health for the last two months.

His body will be taken to Srirangam later today and will be kept at the Srimad Ashram there for public homage. All the religious ceremonies will be performed tomorrow before his body is laid to samadhi.

Sri Ranga Ramanauja Maha Desikan was born in 1935 at Srimushnam in South Arcot district. He is the prime acharya for Vaishnavites.
