10th Inter-Patashala Vedic contest was conducted in Chennai

Chennai: The 10th inter-Patashala Vedic Competition - 2018 conducted by Om Charitable Trust saw about 320 students participating at Sri Krishnasamy Kalyana Mandapam, South Boag Road, T Nagar, in the city on 19 July.

The inaugural session saw Vedic chanting by pandits and students.

Retired principal from Sanskrit College R Krishnamoorthy was the chief examiner and demonstrated the nuances of Vedic mantras, sounds and meaning.

The chief guest industrialist J K Jhaver spoke about the importance of Vedas and its relevance to daily life.

A souvenir commemorating 10 years of Om Charitable Trust activities was released by Jhaver and the first copy was received by Krishnamoorthy sastrigal.

The students trained by the skill development team of the trust gave a power point presentation of an animated story from the epic Mahabharatha.
