        A R Rahman started a new trend in Tamil cinema by coming up with a re-tune for yesteryear MGR hit song Thottal Poo Malarum in S J Suryah's New. It soon caught the admiration of his colleagues and every movie featured a remix of yesteryear hit number.

        Now Rahman is all set to repeat the act. In his forthcoming film Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Rahman has retuned and remixed thespian Sivaji Ganesan's song Ponmagal Vandhal Porul Kodi Thanthal.

        The song was shot in a grand set in Chennai recently featuring Vijay and Shriya.

        Produced by Appachan and directed by Bharathan, the re-recording works for the movie would commence soon.

        Plans are on to release the movie for this Deepavali.
