        Ever since, Ajith chose to pull out of director Bala's Naan Kadavul, the actor was on the prowl for a 'mass theme'. His long wait got over with Aalwar.

        A debutant Chella, one-time associate of S J Suryah, is directing Aalwar. He brings together big names like Ajith, Asin, Vivek and Pasupathy. Chella is optimistic that Aalwar packed with action and humour will make it big.

        Adds the director, 'I know Ajith since the days of Vaali. When I narrated the story of Aalwar to him, he suggested a few changes in the script and agreed to be part of it.'

        'Aalwar symbolizes a man without fear. He is someone who cares for the society and the people around him,' says Chella. A major portion of the movie was shot in a huge set replicating Chennai Government Hospital put up at Hyderabad. A couple of songs abroad. 'Srikanth Deva's music is peppy and energetic quite appropriate for a mass movie', says Chella. The movie has five songs which a mix of rhythms and melody.

        Aalwar produced by Mogan Nadarajan will hit the screens for Pongal.
