Arya drives auto

        The couple Pushkar-Gayatri, who have been trained in the US on cinema techniques, have achieved the distinction of becoming the first husband-wife directorial team to do a Tamil movie .

        They wield the megaphone for Oram Po, which was initially titled Auto and it stars Arya and Pooja.

        Produced by V Pazhanivel and AC Anandan for AB Film Garden, the movie has musical score by G V Prakash of Veyyil fame.

        How many are aware of the auto racing that takes place in Chennia with frenzied betting? The story of Oram Po is based on it.

        Arya plays Chandru, an auto-driver. With his recent films taking a beating at the box office, he has pinned all his hopes on Oram Po.

        Says Arya, 'I play an arrogant auto-driver who is keen on thrills and chills. I thank Pushkar and Gayathri for giving me such an interesting character so early in my career'.

        Pooja plays a slum-girl who sells biriyani.

        The entre movie is set around Triplicane area in Chennai and huge sets were erected replicating the narrow streets, temple tank and a major part of the film was shot there.

        The up and coming cinematographer Nirav Shah, whose work in Dhoom II and the recent Pokkiri won him apreciation has cranked the camera.

        'After rigorous workouts, Arya has trimmed down and sports a new look for the movie to suit the role of an auto-driver, the director couple says and adds, 'the characters are what you find in real life and the story pertains to the problems faced by the youth.' Best efforts are on to churn out a commercial entertainer, they say in chorus.
