Sarath Kumar's Nam Nadu is ready for release. A remake of Malayalam hit Lion, the shooting for the movie is all wound up. Interestingly, Nam Nadu was MGR's blockbuster movie in 1969.
Malayalam
actor Karthika is the female lead. Actor Ramesh Kanna has written the dialogues.
Directed by Suresh, the film is produced by Ramesh Babu for Kanakarathna Movies. The film has a strong political flavour.
Director Suresh says, 'though it is a remake of a Malayalam movie, we made enough changes to suit the Tamil masses.
'It's a different film, showing politics in a new light. The protagonist Muthazhagan (played by Sarath Kumar) starts his career as a youth wing leader of a political party. He goes on to become a Minister. His father, played by Nasser, is the Education Minister in the same cabinet. The conflicts between the two form the basis of the story'.
On his part, Sarath says, 'what I like about the film is its attractive screenplay. The story has a number of twists and turns to sustain audience interest'.
Srikanth Deva has scored music for the movie. The popular song Vangaiya Vathiyaraya featuring MGR is being remixed for the movie.
The movie has huge star cast which includes Nasser, Charan Raj, Illavarasu, Sreeman, Abitha, Ponvannan among others.
The others are: Srikant Deva (music); Shiva Yadav (art) and Super Subbarayan (stunt).
