Maddy's stock soars

Now that he has managed a hit in Rendu and Maniratnam's Guru Madhavan's stock has hit a new high in Tamil cinema. His Arya, a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, after all the delays is getting ready for release. Manoj Kumar, producer of Arya, acknowledged the efforts of Madhavan and director Balasekaran. 'The movie has been completed and the trailer is also ready. We are sure of hitting the screens soon,' he says.

Dwelling on the movie, Love Today fame Balasekaran says, 'it is the story of a medical student who takes his knife for a different purpose and is ready to face the repercussions.' The ensuing violence provides many turns and twists to engage the audience. Prakashraj in a cameo role is the one of the highlights.

'Some minor changes are inevitable in Telugu version of this bilingual film with Sunil doing the role of Vadivelu for the comedy segment,' the director informs. The supporting cast has Bhavana, Devan and Tejashree. Musical score is by Manisharma.

On his part, Madhavan is thrilled to do this challenging project. Says the actor, 'I am confident that a delay would not deter the prospects of Arya at the box office. The movie has come good and it has enough to attract the movie-buffs.'

With many offers in his kitty, Madhavan has a busy schedule throughout the calendar. Followed by Arya, his Evano Oruvan (a remake of Marathi film Dombivili Fast) is waiting to be released. Shooting for the Prathap Pothen directed Oru Naal Podhuma with Madhavan in the lead will commence soon.

Actor turned director Pothen has planned to shoot the entire movie in Canada. Madhavan will play a Sri Lankan Tamil in this movie, according to sources.
