Bommallattam not about me: Bharathiraja

        After a break, Bharathiraja is poised to make a comeback with a bang. Bharathiraja is ready with his bilingual Bommallattam (made as Cinema in Hindi). Popular Bollywood star Nana Patekar plays the title role of a film director in the movie. Arjun and debutant Kajal Agarwal play prominent characters. On the movie, the veteran director says, 'it has a revolutionary theme that deals with the emotional aspects of a film director. A seat-edge thriller, the movie is bound to reflect realities in filmdom.'

        Meanwhile, Bharathiraja is also nursing ambitions to commence his dream project Kuttra Parambarai.

        He says ' I have completed penning the story and screenplay. Directors Cheran and Ameer have been approached to be part of the movie. It needs more time and budget. Hopefully I should commence the project by this year-end.'

        Excerpts from an interview with Bharathiraja
 

        Q: Is it true that you had differences of opinion with Nana Patekar on the sets of Bommallattam?

        A: It is true that I had some exchanges with Nana Patekar while shooting. However, they helped sharpen our thoughts and shaped the movie in a nice way. It was creative exchanges.

        Q: Why did you choose Nana Patekar for the title role?

        A: He is a creative and emotional actor and who knows the nuances. When I decided to do a movie in Hindi, I immediately decided to cast him as my hero.

        Q: What is the movie about?

        A: The movie has a bold theme that would suit international audiences. I am confident that if the movie is made in made in English, it would work out there too. Bommallattam is a fact-paced thriller.

        Q: How was it to work with music-director Himesh Reshmaiyya?

        A: Himesh has composed five songs and they have come out well. He is a real talent, who exudes energy.

        Q: Nana Patekar is playing a film director in the movie. Is the role a reflection of yourself?

        A: No. Certaily not. It can be identifid with any director. I have just pictured the travails and turbulations of directors in general.

        Q: Throw light on the heroines in Bommallattam?

        A: I have introduced two new faces - Rukmini and Kajal Agarwal. Even before the release of the movie, both of them have bagged good offers in Tamil and Malayalam.

        Q: When will your Kuttra Parambarai start?
